About Us
Our daughter Daphne was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was two years old, and our lives changed in a single afternoon. What followed has been years of finger pricks, late-night alarms, glucose monitors, and a whole vocabulary most people never have to learn, dawn phenomenon, compression lows, time in range. We became fluent in all of it quickly - and are still learning every day.
What we never found was anything that looked good. The T1D world is full of awareness ribbons and slogans about a cure, but almost nothing that just looks like something you'd actually want to wear. So we made it ourselves: clothing and accessories that speak fluent T1D to the people who already know, and look like nothing more than a cool vintage piece to everyone else.
Some of our favorite moments are spotting another T1D in the wild, a glimpse of a sensor or a pump, a quick chat between strangers who suddenly know so much about each other. Everyone has been endlessly kind to Daphne in those moments, and we hope these clothes do something similar: a quiet signal that gets a conversation started between people who are already in on it.
Every dollar this brand makes goes to Breakthrough T1D and Camp Nejeda, funding research toward a cure and a wonderful summer camp where kids with T1D get to just be kids for a week.
This is for Daphne, Alice, Maggie, MC, Nazar, and every other T1D out there, brave through the highs and lows.
